_{Born into nobility, now a traveler, Emil began his travels out of Girdania with the hopes of becoming a traveling merchant/trader. Getting his inspiration from Bremondt on their way into the town, Emil took up the idea of adventuring for the sole reason of learning more about this world's goods and what history as a whole it had. Picking up Lancer on his way through as a defense tactic, he slowly became disdained with the idea of fighting if it wasn't truly needed, seeing more solace in pacifism than anything else. Eventually leaving Girdania to go on his own, he picked up a small chocobo fledgling and began raising it as his companion and named it after his vaguely remembered late sister Halua.While on his travels, Emil found ways to make a small living enough to keep himself afloat in the means of peddling various wares to small townsfolk. From scraps of clothing and metal from reluctant Dungeon crawls, fruits from Girdania's own boughs, and various Allagan metals, he seemed to carry it all on him. Although it never got him more than a few gil in his pocket, it was enough to make him happy and continue his merchant ways.While on the road, he happened across a larger Highlander male from a merchant family himself. Introducing himself as Cemi'to, or Toey as shorthand, the two began to travel together on a month-to-month basis. With Toey at his side, Emil was able to upgrade to a smaller carriage hitch for Halua and able to trade and sell larger-scale items, weaponry being the biggest seller. Thankful for Toey's aid, the two began a small partnership when he came into Ul'dah which began a more intimate bond.}

_{Of course, a merchant's life on the road kept the pair apart for months at a time, so their relationship grew further and further apart, and more feisty when the pair were together despite the much obvious height difference. Toey became Emil's Ul'dahn upper hand in goods and services while he was away on business, keeping a very steady flow of money into Emil's hands only a year into their partnership.Emil began reaching out to further countries, making his way into Ishgard and Dravania soon after the partnership began, working his own way into Ishgard's merchant halls with smarts and attire alone. Thankfully he avoided most of the collapse during the initial start of the Dragonsong War and provided a small relief effort before uprooting and moving further into the Dravanian hillscape once the War was concluded.Now traveling farther east in hopes of securing more trade routes under his belt, Emil pushed forward in the cold with trusty Halua and his own polearm tucked into the far back of the carriage singing his own tune to whoever hears him on the routes in hopes to gain more customers to return back to Ul'dah.♫ My stuff's so cheap that you will not believe how much you can save, so swing on by! And then purchase things 'til you're broke. Pri-ces so low! That you need a great sword To sla-ash them more! An-y low-errrr Would be ill-egal!♫}

. (ONE) .  _{Emil is a creature of habit and likes to hold onto his past close to his chest. Similar to how his history is in NieR Replicant, he didn't come from a wonderful childhood in nobility (Being made into a Bioweapon/Ultimate Weapon, sister's death, etc.). He'll shy away from most topics regarding it and actively try to move the conversation elsewhere.}. When brought up he's very eager to tell you everything he can when appropriate. Although content with it by looks, he seems to have a Highlander that keeps a guarded gaze on him as long as Emil's in Ul'dah or even Limsa Lominsa at some moments.
